Blue Chakra(Normal Chakra) 

Chakra can best be described as power or energy a ninja needs in order to perform techniques. It is probably the most important element in fighting for ninjas. Chakra consists of two main parts: the body energy and spiritual energy. Body energy can be tapped into from the cells in your body. The faster your cells move around in your body the more energy you have. Body energy provides strength for a ninja's mind. Spiritual energy is usually acquired from certain experiences in training or battle. Spiritual energy can be best described as an adrenaline rush or extra burst ofenergy. This may come in handy when a ninja is very tired and worn out. 

Red(kyuubi)This Chakra possess an evil dwelling deep within, as it is the holding of the evil nine-tail demon fox demon. The nine-tail fox is deep within Naruto, and he is the only character which can use this Chakra.. This chakra gives a 'disguisting evil feel' as quoted by Zabuza from the early Naruto episodes. The Chakra is a red thick color and when it leaks out, it occasionally takes the form of the the demon fox. When the Chakra is released, Naruto starts to heal unbelievably quickly from his wounds and his speed and power increase dramatically.

Cursed Seal Chakra(Purple).This is a power possessed by those who have been bitten by Orochimaru. This chakra is a dense tone of purple which revolves around the body when the seal is activated. This chakra, if used constantly, drains away the user's life force and soon will make them slaves to Orochimaru forever. This Chakra only appears when the user's normal chakra span is reduced to a minimum and they cant use anymore.

Healing Chakra(green).This type of chakra is used by medical ninja for healing purposes. This greenish looking chakra can heal most physical injuries at astounding speeds. Tsunade mentioned that you need to have a high intellect and a desire to help others in need to be able to use medical powers. It is unknown if any other perquisite are necessary to have this type of chakra. To use it, the ninja gathers this Chakra in the area of their body they want to use to heal someone. Highly advanced users of this Chakra are able to even use it to heal themselves, however, it results in that ninja in having a shorter life span.

Eight Gates Chakra  

Chakra gates are gates in the body that are used as limiters for chakra. They regulate the flow of chakra throughout a person's body to prevent someone from going beyond his/her body's control. But by using a move like the Primary Lotus, which opens 3 gates, the user can release some of the limits on the body. This means the body can move at a much higher rate and with more power. Opening a gate increases chakra flow temporarily, but by doing this, it means the user puts an incredible amount of force on his/her body which can result in massive injury. There are 8 gates in a body. If all 8 are opened, the body no longer has any limits and can move as fast as it wants. But opening all 8 gates is often fatal and depending on the move, it can kill the user.
